Cars from around 2017 carry a forward radar, a camera behind the windscreen and corner radars in the bumpers. Damage to any of them adds a calibration job that shops charge separately. It is the most common surprise in salvage repair, so it is flagged and costed up front.

A complexity score tells you whether the job needs a frame jig, aluminium welding or high-voltage work. Any of those rules out the driveway and moves the car to a specialist, which you want to know before you bid.

Each line is tagged for a competent home mechanic or shop only. Keeping the car and doing the work yourself, your cost is the parts plus the shop-only lines. Selling on, it is everything.

A plain rating for the make and model: “rare Euro, six-week back orders common”, “everywhere on eBay”, “dealer only with a coded ECU”. A cheap repair you cannot source parts for costs more than an expensive one you can.

The repair total is one input to the max bid. Change your target margin, transport miles or shop rate and the max bid recalculates straight away, with no new analysis. The plan is the slow part, and the maths on top is instant.
