A bidding diary that outlives the auction.

A single text field on every lot. Use it for your max bid before you raise it, what you spotted at preview day, the parts you have already sourced. No journal structure to keep up with, just somewhere to put what you would otherwise lose.

Lot data is removed shortly after the auction ends: the analysis goes, and the listing cycles off Copart. Your note is the exception. You wrote it, it belongs to your account, and it stays until you delete the account.

When you save a note, a small snapshot of the car is saved with it: make, model, year, mileage, the lead photo, sale date and lot number. Later you see “BMW 320d M Sport, 2010, 67k miles” next to your note instead of a stray paragraph about a lot you cannot place.

If the photo has gone from Copart’s servers, you get a placeholder. The text snapshot still says what the car was.

The snapshot identifies the car without its registration number. Registration numbers are never linked to your account, and notes follow the same rule.

The lot strip above your note reads “This auction ended. Live analysis no longer available. Your note is preserved.” The note stays readable and editable, so next time a similar car comes up you have your own record of what you paid attention to.
